Paul – I'm real interested in the slingshot or the B. Board. I assume it plugs into the side of the A500. I've got a dataflyer IDE on it right now. Oh well. Perhaps I'll give you a call about it directly.

Howdy, I am VERY (as in $very$) interested in this deal. Is the A500 still for sale? I live in HI but will pay for S&H +$10 for your trouble. – Garry Nelson (808) 836-1727 or 655-2456

What about the B-Bay? – Garry
#135978From: paul ciminoMar 15, 1994 7:46 PM
What about it ? It is the internals, works fine, I have been meaning to make a wood frame so it is usable (not pretty) It is basically a Bodega Bay with no case
#135983From: Garry NelsonMar 15, 1994 8:46 PM
You still want $80 for it? if so, I'll pay S&H…
#136035From: paul ciminoMar 16, 1994 4:25 AM
$80 includes S&H It really is a pretty good deal, if you don't mind exposed hardware. I used it for a while with no problems
#136175From: Garry NelsonMar 17, 1994 3:49 PM
Well, if it gives my 500 the expansion power of a 2000, I'll take it… please E-mail me your phone # and we'll discuss how you want your $ sent. – Garry ps. I know you said S&H is included, but are you aware that I live in Hawaii?
#136191From: paul ciminoMar 17, 1994 5:22 PM
Okay, so Hawaii is a little further than I planned. You should know, it does not "give your A500 the power of a 2000". What it does give you are 4 Zorro II slots so you can use A2000 cards, 2 of those slots can be used for bridgeboard/PC card combos No video slot, no accelerator slot. My daytime phone (7AM – 4 PM EST) (610) 531-7612 or leave a message on voice mail

Sorry, meant MORE power than I have now….

I forgot to ask you if you might happen to know anyone with a rev 5+ 500 motherboard so I can fix my little beastie…
#136193From: paul ciminoMar 17, 1994 5:23 PM
I don't know anyone with a motherboard, but you could try CopperHead Technologies. I think I saw an ad for them in the back of Amazing or Amiga World World
#136194From: paul ciminoMar 17, 1994 5:24 PM
What is wrong with your A500 ?
#136223From: Garry NelsonMar 17, 1994 9:37 PM
Well, it's dated 1985 for one… the bottom of the motherboard and some of the chip connections look like the salt air corroded them. I didn't start having SERIOUS problems until I installed the 2.04 rom and a VXL*030 board, though. The computer would guru after about 20-30 min, and then not work at all until I left it alone for a few hours. Finally, it went kaput altogether. /exit
