I'd be interested in hearing that too. I've used systems that use the WD
chip, but since I'm not the SCSI guy at work, I don't know what particular
things people don't like about that chip.

The only explanation I have is that WD (by making chips which do NOT
conform to their specs) has cost me MANY hours of debugging time, and the
company I used to work for a LOT of money. Given a choice, I would never
buy a WD chip.
Maybe you could help me out. I recently had a problem where my Rigid Di
Block got scrambled and I couldn't boot my A2000HD with the A2091 attached
to the drive. Is there a jumper that can be set to get the thing to
timeout to df0: like the GVP's do automatically??? I had to use a friend's
GVP to write a new block, reinstall my controller and THEN install my
stuff.

I don't know. I DO know that MY machines will boot from a floppy if
it's installed (both the 3000 and the 2000HD), but I don't think I've ever
had a damaged RDB. Maybe someone who really understands the boot procedure
will jump in here and comment.
Yeah…hope so. I know its gotta be possible. BTW-Boy did I learn the
hard way about not having a current backup. 🙁 It is going to take me a
LONG time to reinstall all this wonderful software I use.
