But, hey, I never turn down a baited hook. ;-> I've used MSVC, Borland and Symantec on the PC and Symantec, CW & MPW C++ on the Mac. On the PC side, for ease of use and general productivity, MSVC wins. For C++ implementation, Borland wins. Symantec places 2nd in both categories for me (it's a fairly strong 2nd IMHO). On the Mac, MPW C++ is last in both categories. Unless CW DR2 has some real surprises, I'd rate SC++ 7.0 first in both categories. CW has the speed edge, produces .SYM files and supports segmentation directives. Symantec wins everywhere else. Some folks like CW's context sensitive editor, too. I'm not one of them. I'd rather have CMaster. For my money, the PC side is still ahead, but the gap has narrowed substantially with CW and SC++ 7.0. Reede
