Yes, what the distributor says is common in some overseas markets like Japan
(hence apps like unlimited flag Nisus come with a dongle). The only thing which
I would check is that this is a *Japanese* distributor (or at least one with a
Japanese subsidiary who know what they are about) – otherwise the sales in
Japan might not be so good if the market decides that they are unimpressed!
For Mac copy protection, in my experience, the best is the Rainbow EvE dongle.
It is not cheap, but we have used them for many years and have had minimal
problems. Rainbow advertise in many US magazines, including Byte, and have
offices and presentation around the world. Their Mac EvE dongles go onto the
ADB daisy-chain, and implementing the software side is very simple.
