I have a B2000 and AT clone on my desk and would like to pass data between them. I assume I can do this manually with a null-modem cable by writing to/ reading from the serial ports but wonder if there is a more elegant software solution which would perhaps give me a mini network? Preferably free or cheap. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!

Joe: I would think that mutitasking a communications package on the Amiga, and running a term progrm on the pc as a TSR and using a null modem cable would be about as simple andcheap as you can get. Add Cross-Dos to the Amiga side and you'll have an msdos filesystem at your disposal as well. – Whapp!ng from the North Coast Michael

Michael, Thanks for your comments. I had thought about using the setup you describe although I hadn't thought of a TSR on the PC. I have a bridgeboard in the Amiga and use Messydos, always meant to have a look at Cross-Dos but never got around to it. Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!

Joe: I've been in touch with a chap from the UK that is having trouble getting Whap up & running on his system. I get the impression that he is disabled, although I don't know the nature of it. He's a bit cantakerous, and tends to shout before he speaks if he feels he's not getting attention (funny how some folk who log on to CIS feel that because they're paying to be online, EVERYONE _MUST_ talk to them). In anycase, I think he would really appreciate someone from the UK dropping him an EMAIL and saying hello, and maybe, if you've got the time/desire, help him learn how to get the most from CIS, the AmigaForums etc. Well, here's his name and ID# in case your willing. Be gentle…if he snaps your head off, don't hold it against me, ok? Keith Richards 100020,1050 – Whapp!ng from the North Coast Michael

Michael, Just read your message re Keith Richards. I can cope with being shouted at – I too have a Caps Lock key <G>. OK, email sent. I suppose I had better find the Whap! docs and refresh my memory as it is over a year now since I installed it myself. > don't hold it against me, ok? OK. Joe Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!
