#European training
16 messages in this thread
The time has come once again for my annual European tour.
I am offering private or classroom training to all European 3D Studio users. My
formal itinerary begins in May and includes England, Belgium, France, Spain and
Italy. However, I will travel to any European country if there is someone
there who needs training.
I'd also be interested in organising seminars and speaking at user group
meetings.
If you're interested, please contact me on this user ID. Any user who books two
or more days of training gets a free set of three books from the 3D Studio Tips
& Tricks series.
See you soon
Michele
Hey Michele
Let me know if your going to be >home< on the second Thurs of any month for
the Boston User Group. If not have a great time and say hi to Ingo if you see

I'll be in Boston for most of April, which includes April 14. Whadja have in
mind?
Michehe
We'd be honored to have you drop by the meeting and drop some pearls of
wisdom and show a demo tape or two. The meetings are pretty informal so you
could take as much or little time as you please.
Let me know what you think.

I would certainly make the 2.5 hour trek for that meeting. I bet Michele could
sell a book or two there as well!
Sounds great. I don't have an NTSC tape but I'll try to get my PAL tape
converted for the occasion.
I will have copies of new books hot off the press from Australia though. US
version will be ready around the end of April.
Michele
Give me a call when you get back to Auburn and we'll work out the details.
Thanks

Michele,
How are you?
What are your dates in the UK?
Andrew
Dates are currently open. I tend to go in and out of the UK a lot because
that's where most of the work is. In any case, I'll be flying into Heathrow
from Boston in late April/early May (exact date not set yet). Is that a good
time for you?
Michele
Michele,
Some background
At our AGM in January, AutoCAD User Group UK, like NAAUG, became the Autodesk
User Group. At the moment we don't have a 3DS SIG, and sometime soon we need
to get something kick-started.
When I read your message, I saw the possibility of arranging an inaugural
meeting with you as the star. Unfortunately, your visit to the UK is too close
to make the necessary arrangements and publicise the event.
Ideally, we would need to fix a date some three months ahead of an event
because of the lead-in times necessary to get meeting notices into the three
publications AUGUK uses to publicise its events; CAD User, CADdesk and
Autodesk's own News.dxf.
Email me just before you leave for London, or phone me when you arrive (081 348
3040) and maybe we could meet sometime.
Andrew
Sounds good. Did you know I am the NAAUG international 3DS rep? It's my JOB
to start 3DS user groups! So I am very interested in this!
As an American I always consider London to be "just a quick train-and-ferry
ride" from anywhere in Europe. I think I entered and exited the UK eight times
last summer. The customs officials were getting quite suspicious.
The upshot of this is that anytime is fine. Would you like to schedule
something in June or July? I'm going to Siggraph (July 24) so it would have to
be before then. August is fully booked in the US, but late in September would
be fine too.
I'll be happy to stop in and see you when I'm in London. I'll call you when I
arrive.
With your advertising timetable you might want to fix a date now. I won't be
in London for another month or so.
Michele
Michele,
may I suggest that you also have a phone call with the german 3DS
distributor. Maybe he's interested in having you talk to his users.

They just organized a nice 3DS event on March 1st. You should have been
there. <g>

I wish I had been there. By the way I never saw the review you did. How can I
get a copy of the magazine the review appeared in? (If the review was good,
that is. <g>)

The magazine is published only four times a year. The issue with the review
is at the printers now. I'll let you know when it's available.

Andrew,
We're a heavy 3DS user (and dealer) in the UK, with render farm and video
production setup. I'd be interested in getting involved with a 3DS SIG.
Anything I can do?
Regards Chris Wee Rosswood in Aylesbury, England
Chris,
We may have a goer here!
This next week, I will be talking to Nick Manning at Autodesk UK, plus a couple
of other leads Michele has given me, in order to set up a 3DS SIG here in the
UK.
Can you phone me on 081 348 7741, or fax 081 348 7741 to discuss the matter
further. I work from home, so you can call me anytime during the day or early
evening.
Andrew
