#Terminus and 132 Cols

Jack (or anyone else that might know),
In experimenting with terminus I decided to try using a 132 char VT100
display console when I am hooked up to my University accounts.
Unfortunately, whenever I set the VTxxx options 132 chars gadget and
Terminus tries to open a VT100 console, I get the requestor "TermDD132 9"
font not found. Well, the distribution includes an 8 pt. font with that
name, but not a 9 point. Any ideas?
I am not sure I am going to continue using 132 char mode anyway though.
I really do not like the scrunched up font needs to squeeze 132 chars on
my screen. I have though set up a 118 char display that uses the XEN font
that I think might work out ok.

Have you tried defining the 8 pt. font in the console setup window
instead? Click on the "New Font" button and a requester will pop up
letting you define a new font.

Yup, tried that. It still asks for the 9 point font. It seems checking
132 cols in the VTxxx requestor overides the setting in the fonts field of
the console requestor.

I've no idea why it's asking for a 9 point font, since the 132 character
fonts are, as you mentioned, 8 point. What's the height of the default font
you're using in 80 column mode?

Your message led me to a little experimenting, with the following
result.
If at the console screen I had the font XEN 9 selected in 80 col mode
and I hit the VTxxx button and select 132 cols, then when I click ok a go
back to the console requestor, the font field shows TermDDC 9. If I have
XEN 8 selected then the VTxxx requestor with 132 mode selected properly
returns the TermDDC132 8 font.

That's what I expect too, just didn't have access to the Amiga at the time I
replied to you to verify.
I suppose the only practical solution is to disable 132 column mode if an 8
or 16 point font isn't selected. Thanks for pointing this oversight out to me.
