RAD handler problem??
3 messages in this thread
I've got what I think is a hardware problem with my 2000, WB 1.3:
Intermittently, during startup, I'm unable to format the RAD: device: I get a
message sys:system/format failed…can't find handler.
Now, I can format a floppy disk OK, I haven't changed anything, and once in
awhile, everything works ok.
The error that comes up is Error 12602810; I don't have any reference that
tells me what this error means, but I imagine it's "can't find handler".
Just what handler is it looking for? I can mount rad:, but when I cd
rad:, amigaDos sez "rad: not found", etc. etc. Can anyone help??

Just wondering – You do have ramdrive.device in DEVS: ? Other thing to have a
look at is the mountlist entry –
Would you care to post it in a msg so we could have a look ?

Muzz: I *think* I've found a problem…I'd reallocated RAD: larger thatn I
believe it can handle…it's been 150 cyl and I tried to increase it, but the
upper limit appears to be 180 cyl (just under 2M). But I swear this happened a
few weeks ago before I tried *anything*…
But, there have been intermittent hardware things happening lately, and I
think the thing needs a good cleaning.
At any rate, it's working ok now; thanks for the response! –Damon
