Hello, I have not been able to download anything on CompuServe. I'm using a
A1200, Term 3.3, a SupraFax v.32bis, and I have tried different protocols.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Make sure you configure Term to use 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop
bit (8N1). Also, if there's an option to "strip high bit", set that.
Your best option for protocol to use here is either B or B+, as it is
designed for optimal use of Compuserve's network.

First off, be sure you have your serial settings for 8-n-1 when you want
to download binary files. You can get text with 7 bits, but not binaries.
The best protocol to use for CompuServe is one of the B protocols. I
don't know Term3.3, so I'm not sure it it supports B, QuickB, or B+, but
one of those is certainly best. I think my second choice would probably be
YModem, then Kermit, and last if there is nothing else available, XModem.
Please check your serial settings and let us know how things go. The most
frequent problem with downloading is when the serial settings are wrong.

initially I used Term on Compuserve, when you get downloading working get
AutoPilot ( the sysop will tell you which Amiga forum and library it is in
). AutoPilot is THE BEST PROGRAM to use with Compuserve.
When I started, I used Term v3.4. The following worked for me ( I live in
Britain by the way ):
Use 7bits even parity 1 stop bit to log on.
When downloading use Term's Y-MODEM protocol. It is slightly slower than
Compuserve B or B+ protocol, but I couldn't get B or B+ to work on Term.
Term can automatically handle the switch to 8N1 for you during the
download. DO GET AUTOPILOT…it is perfectly suited to Compuserve.
