To all;
Does any one know who makes the GoldenGate II board, not the Vortex
Golden Gate pc emulator board, the one i'm looking for the one that
does not do emulation but alows the amiga to use some IBM boards,
like floppy controlers. Im not sure what other bords you can use but
i would like to find the manufacturer to find out more about it.

I have not heard of the "GoldenGate II" board that you asked about (other
than rumors about the GoldenGate pentium type of upgrade)… But I have the
Vortex GG 486SLC and it permits the use of IBM boards, like floppy controllers.
In fact, I have an I/O board that runs with the 486SLC and it comes with a
floppy controller, IDE controller, parallel and serial ports, and game port
(cost me $20.00).
Your note was not clear that you already realized that the Vortex emulator
permits you to add IBM boards.

Yes I know a bit about the Vortex boards, I have even gotten some
brouchures from the U.S. distributor. The board I was looking for was made
by a different company and did not do any emulation it just bridged the PC
slots over for use by the Amiga. I am not sure exactly how it worked but I
think it made ahy PC devices put in the PC slots look like Amiga devices
to the Amiga.
I have a 286 brideboard but I have not had the best of luck with it and
was hopping to upgrade to a Emplant before to long and the GoldenGate II
card would let me still use the my Multi-I/O card (IDE controler,floppies,
serials, parallel and game port,much like yours).

There was something rumored in Europe called something like the Golden Gate II,
but it was pulled, no doubt under pressure from Vortex, among other things.

I am not sure but I thought that it pre-dated the Vortex boards, but I
have heard that the original manufacturer had sold it to someone else, it
could be the new manufacturer that you heard of or it could be that the
Goldengate II is not as old as I thought.
