AMIA

Attention EMPLANT owners!
Utilities Unlimited International, Inc. is pleased to announce another
breakthru in emulation technology… 'AMIA'
AMIA (Amiga<>Mac Interface Adapter) is a tiny interface that allows you to use
MAC floppy drives on your Amiga! AMIA plugs into the last external disk drive
in your system (or into the Amiga disk drive port, if no external drives are
used) and allows any MAC or MAC compatible low density floppy drive to be
attached.
Unlike previous 'hacks', AMIA was designed with multitasking in mind, and
because of this, you will be able to read/write/format disks right from
Workbench!
AMIA is affordably price at $59.95 and we are taking orders now. This product
will be available in approximately 30 days.
Finally! I'll be ordering one for sure.

Jim,
Are you going to do an interface for Amiga drives as well?
Yes, Denny. 🙂

Jim,
You lost me… an interface for Amiga drives that does what?
Michael,
I designed a half-height Zorro board that lets you connect your stanard Amiga
floppy drives to it to allow reading/writing of virtually any disk format
known, including Macintosh 800K format. The board is also capable of
duplicating magnetic flux transitions in real time, making it ideal for backing
up copy-protected disks. Another neat feature is the ability to use standard
IBM high density drives with the Amiga using this board. You could also use
2.88 drive guts and get 3.52 megs of storage on a single floppy!
Jim,
So, how come you didn't do this two years ago?
<g>
Great news… and congratulations.
BTW… does this means that I could run the cable from my current internal
CBM HiDensity floppy to your AMIA board instead of to the A3000
motherboard floppy connector and be able to read/write all of these floppy
formats?
Does we need MAC floppy for this ? I have yet an 800K Mac drive : can I use it
?
Outstanding Jim! Congratulations!!
