I long ago made a wish that would incorporate that. Mine is that
the Video Post Record be smart enough to detect when frames don't
change, and send a single Auto-Edit command to do all of them at once
rather than one frame at a time, repeating the same frame every
time. Basically, if there is a sequence of frames that:
1. Do not involve the KeyFramer Scene.
2. Do not contain any .FLCs or .IPLs or sequences of stills for any
purpose, including transitions and alpha as well as queue items.
3. Do not use any animated .IPXs (there would be a list of .IPXs in
3DS.SET that would be safe to include in a multiple batch — for
instance, VBLUR.IPX would be safe, while HILITE.IPX might not due
to the rotating hilight stars).
4. Do not contain any Fade In, Fade Out, or animated transitions.
etc., they will be counted up and recorded to tape in a single "burst" or
multi-frame Auto-Edit, rather than one frame at a time.
I have finally had to bite the bullet and fall back into my past life of
dabbling in programming. I had some immediate needs. I have written a very
simple BASIC program that will build and ASCII file of tape commands that run
through my DQ422 card. When using the Betacam and QuickPass I can just sit
there, but when dropping to the EVO-9650 this program has been able to do most
of what I hope to see in R4. It would still be much nicer to be able to set
this stuff up in the keyframer, however. That way you can check every 50th
frame or so as a safety feature. With any luck, we will see this kind of
addition.
Christopher,
<< wish..>>
got it.
