Merlin, in addition to the other responses you got here about
histograms, you can play with them yourself if you have PaintShop Pro
(a shareware, availible on CIS) for Windows. Load up an imange, turn
on the Histogram display, then play with the preview options of Gamma
Correct, Brightness/Contrast, etc. and watch the histogram change.
Other programs will do this too.
"A play-session is worth 1000^2 words"
PS: Paintshop Pro is great for all kinds of image manipulation and
processing stuff, and only about $70 register.
JKJ,
Thanks for the reply in reference to the H-grams. I grabbed
PaintShop Pro (very nice program) and will commence to playing with the
H-grams.
thanks again,
Merlin
