Hi, Some years ago, I was trying a silicosis case, in which I was defending a company that mined and sold silica sand to a foundry in western Pennsylvania. During the crossexamination of one of the plaintiffs' experts, I suggested that the hazards of silica inhalation were so well known that there were even folk songs about them. After the trial, I thought I should track down the songs in case anyone ever challenged me on the existence of these folk songs. I did find a song "Silicosis is killing me," which was written shortly after the Gauley Bridge disaster in West Virginia, in the 1930's. Does anyone out there know of any other songs about silicosis resulting from hard rock mining? I am thinking of putting an anthology together called "Sad Silicosis Songs." Any help would be appreciated. Nathan
