How can I send my Toaster 2.0 back for service? I was toaster painting this afternoon when BOOM! both my preview and output monitors went crazy. Working backwards, I connected the preview and output directly to the monitors, I re-seated my card, I re-installed the software, I replaced my Denise and Power Supply. Still, the problem is there. The VT Logo rolls up on my output screen, and the preview screen is just a jumble of squiggley lines. I bought the toaster used about a year-and-a-half ago. The S/N is 343543. I posted a message to you guys on CServe and asked if the warranty could be transferred to me. The original owner was supposed to E-Mail you as well. Help, please. OK – they suggested I try turning the little screw until I got -2.1 volts. I checked it tonight – it is ALL over the place. Back it goes . . .

Steve – Be sure you have a clean source, a camera preferred, on Toaster input one. Without that, you will get random values with the cap. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Hi Stephen – First, be sure you have the original disks and docs and the sales receipt. You should be able to transfer the registration, but as of 1/1/95 all one-year warranties are in force, so your Toaster is out of warranty. However, NewTek has announced a very reasonable repair plan, including a loaner option. Contact them with the details, and they'll give you all the info you need. If you would like help, I can be reached at (203) 270-9000 during normal business hours in Connecticut. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Hank – You are a Toaster users best friend! I will drop you a line if I get the chance. I talked with Chirs at NewTek today – he suggested I turn the adjusting screw until it set at -2.1 volts. I couldn't get it. At the board warmed up, it drifted all over the place. I guess I've got to send it back – they said they would charge me about $50 to fix it (a great deal if you ask me!) Steve

Steve – See previous. There is a specific setup for doing the adjustment. You should have a camera connected to source one. I got random values too, until we set up the camera. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

PMFJI, but you must also have monitors on your Program and Preview outputs for the adjustment (if memory serves). Regards, Gary

Thanks Gary – You're right, that's also part of the correct adjustment configuration. NewTek has a fax describing the process in detail. They should probably make it part of the manual. Now, why didn't NewTek think of that? Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Yeah – kind of a drag. I am sure that the folds at NewTek will help me out. They got right back to me on the phone this morning. Steve
