#IM R/T Something missing

Hilary,
You should be able to load the image, process it, and then "save 24bit iff" and
have an image that is the same size. Keep in mind that the image will never
"fill" the ImageMaster screen like it fills the Toaster's screen because
ImageMaster always "underscans" so you see the entire image. However,"N Unless
you purposely change the size of the image, it will remain the same as the
source image.

I have been using a picture in IFF24 taken from "Montage" as my test piece.
When used with Montage, this picture fills the screen both on my computer
monitor and as it emerges into my editing monitors – attached to the Toaster.
Quite satisfactory.
When I input this same picture into ImageMaster, it is presented to me on the
computer monitor NOT filling the screen. After saving in IM R/T, and putting
back into the Montage/Toaster system, it then appears undersized, like a poster
fixed on a wall… quite unsatisfactory.
One main question. Does one set the size of the picture you want to put into
IM…. BEFORE you actually try and input the picture into IM… by setting
some mysterious things in IM ? So far, the first thing I am doing, is to input
the picture… and then desperately trying to re-size it… without any
success.
If only I had a Manual !!! Tried to find the "Tutorial" mentioned on one tatty
piece of paper which arrived with the 7 disks. No luck. Even took a look at
the files now on my hard disk. Nothing that would resemble a Tutorial.
As we are a commercial post production house, the time taken in trying to get
the program up and running is VERY important to us. Hence my anxiety.

Unfortunately, when I first used IM, I wanted to scale easily as well, and
found that little task was almost completely undocumented. At the time, I
didn't understand the relationship between buffers and clips and brushes
and whatever. I may be wrong, but I don't even think the word SIZE or
SCALE is in the "comprehensive index". Again, I haven't looked lately, but
I do recall pulling hair out trying to do this simple scale operation.
Now, all I can say is I wouldn't do graphics without ImageMaster. It's my
answer to Photoshop. Hope you find joy, Stimpy old boy.

I quite agree Steve.
I too looked in the so-called Index for SCALE… SIZE… and a lot of adjacent
words. Not a peep.
ImageMaster should come with a sheet of paper.. "Getting Started".
From the amount of good help I have received here in the Forum, I am slowly
putting together an Instruction Manual. In due course I shall invite the Black
Belters to purchase same for distribution. A bottle of Greecian Formula will
be included. This is to turn the hair greyed by trying to understand IM R/T,
back to its natural color.
