Thank you for uploading the Ami-Back v2.0e to 2.01 patch. I dloaded it and
the patch worked fine. Only problem I have is when I run the program I am
informed that
This copy of Ami-Back has not
been properly personalized.
Please use the install program
to install Ami-Back.
I did use the install program, and a copy of the original disk, however the
program works just fine. The initial program window shows my name and
registration number so it appears that the patch worked OK. What gives? Does it
matter? Has the registration portion of the program perhaps been disabled?
In any event, thank you for the prompt response to my request for the patch
program.

I have exactly the same problem as you have! Ami-Back says it`s not
personalized, but it is!

I have no idea what would cause this, especially if the main screen contains
your user info. It is annoying, but it will not interfere with the program.
The only thing I can think of at this point is that you might have an old
config file from your previous version of Ami-Back interfering with your
install script. Make sure you have deleted your old ami-back config file in
your s: directory before installing the patch. I will take a look at it and
try to figure out what's what.

I've been having problems lately restoring back to my A4000 with my Archive
Viper and Amiback hooked up to my warp scsi controller. I can back up fine
though. I'm forced to put the drive on my A2000 and restore over my Amigalink
network to the A4000 which is slow but at least it works. Are there any known
problems with the Warp drive Scsi controller and Amiback?

Many users have called in reporting problems with Ami-Back and the Warp Engine
SCSI. The error most rported has been a "Transfer Length Wrong" error. The
programmers tell me that the problem is in the Warp Engine SCSI controller, as
Ami-Back is written to use SCSI standard commands.
At this time, we have not been able to acquire a Warp Engine for testing. I
have been attempting to contact Microsystem Development, but they're not even
in when they say they're in, so it is difficult.
