Does anyone have any info about running 3D studio with dual monitors. Do you need a special video card/adapter to make this happen. Please help with any suggestions or experiences, thanks.

The easiest way to run 3DS with two monitors is to install a framebuffer card like Truevision's TARGA+ or ATVISTA and connect it to an NTSC monitor. This way the 3DS interface is on the computer's monitor and the rendered output is on the NTSC monitor. I use the ATVISTA and am very happy with it (although it requires an external RGB->COMPOSITE encoder). The Targa boards are much less expensive, with some great deals on used ones available occasionally. JKJ
