#3.1 & A2500 ???

Hopefully someone can help me with this one 🙂 I've got an A500 and an A2500
with C='s A2630 '030 card.
I just got the 3.1 Upgrade kit for my A2500, but it wont work on there cuz my
ROMs on my 2630 board are too old…and are difficult to find these days.
I have kickstart 1.3 in ROM, but have been running 2.1 by using SetCPU and a
kickfile made from my A500's 2.0 ROMs…this has been working just great for
several years.
So, I put the 3.1 upgrade kit in my 500, dumped the ROM file again and tried to
use SetCPU to load it into my 2500 just like I'd done with the 2.0 ROM, but the
system won't boot it. It loads it just fine, resets as normal, but never comes
back from the reset.
Anybody know of any way to get 3.1 softkicked into my A2500?

I have seen 3.1 softkicked only on 2.04 roms, not on 1.3 roms. I would
also be interested from a philosophical viewpoint in knowing whether this
is actually possible.

I'm not a philosopher, so I can't speak for that particular viewpoint.
However, I can attest that it is possible to softkick 3.1 on a 2500 with a 1.3
ROM – I do it at least once a day using the tools provided to developers by
Commodore (back when such things happened).
The philosophers might argue that, since no one witnesses this event, it
doesn't happen.
