#AmiTCPIPv4.0 Demo

I've spent a large part of today trying to get the demo version of AmiTCPIP
v4.0.
I have transferred it from two different FTP sites, and dounloaded it from CIS.
All of the archives abort with error mesages about corrupted files when
extracted. When I use the "view" option of LHarc or LZ, the files list,
although some report "0" for a beginning size, with some larger number reported
for the compressed size.
All of the extraction attempts abort with the second file (the first is an icon
file) which is one of the "0" sized files.
Has anyone else had this problem? Or gotten it to extract?

Only a thought: Did you try *LHA* (not LHarc or LZ)? You will find LHA138.run
somewhere here in the libraries.

I _thought_ LHArc was just another name for LHA. I have never had LZ refuse to
unpack a .lha file. I tried LHArc1.20 which also aborted. After downloading
LHA138, it did indeed unpack the file successfully.

(Now if I can only get AMITCP, AMosaic, my 3000 and the rest of the world to
talk to one another…;-} )

Rob,
To get AMITCP and AMosaic to run you need to have Magic User Interface
installed. It's MUI.LHA here in AmigaUser but i don't remember witch lib.
As for setting up AMITCP, I'm at a loss as well. I've tried, and tried, but
to no avail. Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

Rob,
The guide file for LZX, the brand new archiver with it own format has a some
nice historical info on archivers.
Lharc supports only the lh1 (.lzh) compression format, so it should not be
able to expand .lha files as they usually use the lh5 method. Both LZ and LHA
support both the lh1 and the lh5 schemes, so LZ should work for you. I would at
least give LHA a try on the file anyway though.
