Hi Paul, can you please tell me how to get CrossMac or MaxDOS? Rainer Fruehwirth, on AP from Vienna/Austria

Rainer- MaxDOS is from Media4 Productions, in West Des Moines, Iowa, at (515) 225-7409. CrossMac is from Consultron, in Plymouth, Michigan, at (313) 459-7271. I expect both are available from most or all Amiga mail order houses. There is a review of / article about the two of them as well as some other cross-platform issues written by our friend in these forums Erik Flom in the current Video Toaster User, but it's hard to tell which product is better. They both have different strengths and weaknesses. If you can get hold of the mag it's probably best to read the article for yourself. Also, I don't know how well or poorly they get along with Emplants, though I'll probably find out sometime in the next few months. Mr. Zombie – now 76375,1776

Do I get this right: When you have an Emplant you do not need CrossMac or MaxDOS? Michael Michael Nicolaisen Greetings from Germany (it's not raining any more!)

No, no, you don't need them. Those products are from different companies, but they do offer a few features that the Emplant doesn't, though no emulation of course, <g>, but I don't know how and whether they cooexist. Mr. Zombie – now 76375,1776

Ooops, misread your question – you're right, you -don't- need them, although the Emplant provides little or no access to Mac drives from the Amiga side, as I understand it. What I'd like to know is whether either MaxDOS or CrossMac support Emplant partitions, and how well. Mr. Zombie – now 76375,1776

> What I'd like to know is whether either MaxDOS or CrossMac support Emplant partitions, and how well. I'd like to know that too. Does anybody know the answer? Michael Nicolaisen (Intel outside) Greetings from Germany

Michael: I'll be getting an Emplant board in the middle of March. I'll check out Cross-Dos on Emplant harddrive partitions then. I'll post the results afterward. Tom Hunt

Paul, I don't know if this will help but running setpatch with the noaga option eliminated alot of the flakiness on my 040 3000. -Richard

Richard- I'll try that out! I didn't even know that option existed. I wonder though if it's going to kill my AGA emulation via my Retina. That wouldn't be a good thing. Mr. Zombie – now 76375,1776 – no longer Warped
