#24 bit board wanted
6 messages in this thread
Looking for 24 bit board for the Amiga….
My 3000 de-interlacer is dieing.
So rather than spend big bucks to ship the computer across the country, I
need a decent 24 bit board that will work with the 3000 under 2.04 or 3.1.
Main use will be with PageStream, and possibly Emplant in the future.
If you have one for sale, or have suggestions as to which is a good one to
buy, please advise.
Thanks -Alex
I'm not selling one, but I do have a RetinaZ3, so I can tell you this: the
hardware is Screaming!, but the software sucks. Don't get a Spectrum, the
hardware is buggy. Wait if you can a few days (hopefully) and see how the
CyberVision from Advanced Systems is – it's supposed to come out in March, it's
supposed to have kickin' software, and it's a Z3 board with a 64bit controller,
so at worst it shouldn't be TOO much slower than the Retina.

Hmmm….so what's buggy about the Spectrum's hardware? Mine seems to be
working fine, has so since the day I installed it. But I will agree, the
CyberVision-64 sounds like a heck of a graphics card. If it's anything
like the specs they have posted, I'll probably get one.

I don't remember what the bug is supposed to be, but GVP acknowledged it and
said they had no plans to fix it.
As to the CyberVision, where have you seen specs? I'm seriously thinking about
getting one if its anything like the rumours, but rumours are all I've heard.

Alex,
I have an Opalvision that I'll sell you. Let me know how much you would be
willing to offer. Serious inquiries only please.

I'm serious about buying a 24 bit board, but not sure of the going price
of an Opalvision.
Do you have a price in mind?
What are the specs on it? How old is it?
