It's not quite that simple. A driver alone would be no use for the Stylus Color (nor for many other modern printers) because the standard WB printer prefs do not provide adequate control. Jeff Walker.

Huh? The guy was looking for a PD (free) driver for the Epson…said he really didn't feel like paying money for one. My answer was that if he wants a good one, he's gonna have to buy one. I'm not sure what your reply to me means at all?! Gary on AutoPilot from Charlotte, NC

I haven't seen a PD solution yet. Did you? PS: Gary, the Studio printing program is now 3(!) times faster for Stylus Color users than the release version 😉

"PS: Gary, the Studio printing program is now 3(!) times faster for Stylus Color users than the release version ;-)" Is this a new version of the Studio program you are working on now, or one that has already been released? // John (Warp 4040 & Emplant Quadra 840) \X/ Mercury@ins.infonet.net

The 3 times faster Studio version is something I have worked since the release of Studio V2 last November. I'm planning to make an update archive with the new software as soon as I find the time to finish/test things. The file will become available here on CIS for download. Hopefully before taking my long planned vacation (I'm desperate for it). But there are several printers being released during the next weeks and I would rather like to make an upgrade once the support for the printers is completed. Don't worry, you get the software if you own Studio V2 here on CIS for free.

Sounds good Wolf, we will be looking forward to the upgrade of the Studio software. Yep, I'm a registered owner of the software, at least I hope Noaji's got my registration card OK. // John (Warp 4040 & Emplant Quadra 840) \X/ Mercury@ins.infonet.net

No, I haven't seen any PD solution….that's why I told him he'd better get used to the idea of spending some money! 3 x faster?! Wow! Unfortunately the Color Stylus I had is now back at Epson…still happy with the Canon, though 🙂 Gary on AutoPilot from Charlotte, NC

Don't take it personally 😉 Just pointing out that for these modern printers a driver is only part of the solution. Adding to your comment, as it were. Sorry I upset you. Jeff Walker.

Not upset, just totally mystified. Still feels like a non sequiter to me. 🙂 Gary on AutoPilot from Charlotte, NC
