#Scaling bomb
5 messages in this thread
Has anyone else noticed this possible bug. After merging an object from
another #DS or PRJ file and then grossly scaling that object, either up or
down, I will get a software crash if I leave the editor, go to another, module
for example the mat. editor, and return to the editor.
The first symptom shows up as large, wild triangles all over the editor screen.
At this point I know I'm doomed. Any further action kills the program.
This problem occurs on two different machines, running two separate 3DS
programs.
Any advice?
Thanks
Chris,
Hi there, the problem you describe sounds similar to one experienced by a
friend of mine whilst using a Diamond Stealth 64 (PCI version) graphics card on
a Pentium 90. The problem in this case was in fact the Vibrant in-line
drivers, the solution was to use a different version of the Vibrant Driver (I
cannot remember which version solved the problem, perhaps 1.05 will do the
trick). Hope this helps.
will check drivers. thanks
Hi Chris,

I've heard of a similar symptom but there was no crash involved..(?) Have you
checked your system for virus', disk integrity and have you reinstalled 3DS
from the original shipping floppies yet?
jonas[adesk]
we check for viruses on bootup.
haven't reloaded 3DS because we are two-for-two on different systems with
different copies of 3DS. sounds embedded to me.
