Hello, I'm using 3D Studio 2.01 and I have numerous Windows True-Type Fonts I want to use with 3DStudio to render text. Is there anyway to convert these TTF files so 3D Studio can understand them as font files which work with Release 2? Replies are appreciated, thanks in advance. Geoff M. Keighley

I do not know of any translator which will allow you to use TTF fonts in 3DS. However I have found myself using Corel Draw to convert the particular string of text into curves, breaking it apart and then finally DXFing out. Seems like a lengthy process but it does work. There are a few draw backs to this technique. 1) Text is no longer editable in 3DS so make sure you get it right before DXFing out. 2)DXF files can become consideralbly large depending on the TTF chosen. 3) You need Corel Draw or some other package which will allow you to convert text into curves. I hope this helps you out…if you do find a easier way of using TTF in 3DS let me know. pHred

Geoff I read a few days ago about a TTF converter available in one of the libraries ( I think utilites). I have not tried it myself but if you decide to try it let me know of your findings.
