There is a file in the library, wood.zip which contains a wood.mli file. All the materials listed in this library require wood2_i.sxp. Is this a newer version of wood_i.sxp? Who is responsible for this file? -Lee

Hi Lee, << All the materials listed in this library require wood2_i.sxp. Is this a newer version of wood_i.sxp? >> Was this the wood.zip file? If so, Mike White, 72002,1010, was the uploader and also is an SXP IPAS programmerer. I'd suggest e-mailing him and starting a dialog. jonas[adesk]

Thanx Jonas, I had suspected that.

Hi Lee If you just load up wood.sxp it will still retain the setting. You also could rename it To wood2.sxp. I'm sorry I for got the we copiled the IPAS routines from the IPAS toolkit , and named them all with a 2 at the end. This wood routine is no different the the shipping version with 3 D Studiio. Again I'm sorry for the confusion. If there is any other question I will be more the happy to answer. Mike White [SDP]

Hi Mike, I just wanted to make sure I was seeing the materials as intended. I had already renamed a copy of wood to wood2 and it seement to work. Your routines do a wonderful job of simulating wood. Just goes to show that with enough experimentation IPAS routines can have many many uses not initially obvious. Mike, for anyone else watching in here, will the demo versions of your routines which you uploaded here work with this mli? Once again if anyone is wondering what this is about, there is a file in the library called wood.zip. It contains some NICE materials created with SDP (Mike Whites') IPAS routines: Imagine Fractal Textures, Fractal Botique, and Photo-realistic Textures. All these are available from Schreiber Instruments and there are demo versions which allow limited use here in the library.

Thank Lee. On you qestion about the demo routines. They will work with the matlibs provided on C Serve will work. The yser just needs to scale their object too fit the texture. Like working in reverse. Currently I'm makind a reel for Sieggraph, so 've been a little busy. It gets kinda of hard doing everything your self, but I willl be putting a hole buch *.mli up very soon. I know thes are worth some money, but I want the user to be able to have fun with our routines even in demo mode. Thanks for the support , and if you like give some ideas on what need to be turned into a routine. Mike
