#TSE Lock?

I was about to order TSE when it suddenly occurred to me that I should check whether it requires a hardware lock. I didn't even think of asking this about LensFX (I'm so naive — I bought ALL of Gary's routines and just assumed…) and had to quickly cancel my purchase when I found it wouldn't run under my (two machine) network (I've subsequently taken advantage of the new offer that Gary inspired). If I understand the way this thingee (TSE) works, the scripts I write will be called during rendering (if I use anything other than PXP, right?) so I'll be back in the same boat as I was with LensFX if there is a hardware lock for my one master machine but no way to run it on my slave. Anyway, please tell me this isn't the case and that Schieber acted intelligently. Or have I heard so many bad things about them (how things are installed — someone wrote here that they wouldn't buy ANYTHING from these guys) that I should stay away just on general principles and stick to what damage I can do in keyscripting?

There's no lock (hardware or otherwise) on TSE, Mike. – G PS: Good move re your picking up LenZFX!

PMJI, What is the offer on LenzEFX that you mentioned. Does it allow for net rendering? Ian.

I believe the offer for LenZFX is you can get it at $295 for a limited time. It has a hardware lock, but is network render compatible. It is a top notch IPAS, a must have, in my opinion. I just bought a copy today after burning with need for two months.

The offer was mailed out to all holders of the Yost IPAS Disk #1, which is a special price on LensFX for a limited time (I think you save $100). LensFX has dropped the single user version — their currently shipping version does network rendering.

I don't know what the license says about using it on more than one node for rendering, so far I have only used it for PXPs on a single node. My experience with TSE is entirely good, I wouldn't recommend it so strongly if this weren't the case. – Dan / n-Space, Inc.
