Does anyone know where I can get good editing software for audio?
Soundblaster's software is not good. I am looking for the closest thing to
manual analog tape editing (yes, by hand) at the least price.
The closest I've seen is Voyetra's software because you can play the .WAV file,
then when it nears the point you want to edit, you hit the mouse, then release
when it ends the part you don't want. The biggest problem is the inability to
PREVIEW. That would be a tremendous feature. You can mark off what you want
to edit, but you can only play that "GRAYED" area. I want to hear what's
"around it" — in other words, what it would sound like without that GRAY area.

Doesn't this cost about $600. I tried to download the demo, but I get a
general fail error. It says I need a 386-40 and 8 MB RAM. I have 386-25 and 4
MB. Oh, well.

the "WAVE 2.0" Software by Turtle Beach is quite good, if your files are not
too big….

Correct on all counts. You can get SAW alone for less than $600, but if you
get the software effects rack you will probably be around $600 with a discount.

p.s. You might want to check into Wave for Windows from Turtle Beach. I don't
know how that would compare to the Voyetra piece, only to SAW.
