You should consider the Mustek 12000CX. Don't listen to those guys. It
comes with Photo Shop Limited edition, twain device utility, text regonition
software. It is a three pass, buy hey, there is actually not much of a
different between single pass and three pass. Single pass scans RGB once, three
pass scans RGB separately. The results are totally the same. And many single
pass machines in the market are actually slower than three pass.
Most important, the Mustek 12000CX is 1200 DPI, OPTICAL, not
interpolated! It's 24 bit, and guess what? It would only cost you $700! It came
with it's own SCSI interface too. What a way to save some REAL money!

Unfortunately that scanner is not on sale around here. It seems that the market
is restricted only to HP, Genious and Logitech.

Ok, Alvaro:
In your case, I guess it's tough to get the Mustek, since it's a brand
you can't see. Still, HP is really good, just a bit over priced.

I didn't get HP after all. As you said is just a bit over priced. Insted I got
a Genious Table Scanner. Usually I run away from Genious products, but I'm very
happy with this scanner. Good software and nice resolution, three passes, etc.

I am very happy for you. You get a nice product, and save money. Three
passes is not bad at all. Instead of reading RGB at once like the single pass,
it reads them separately. The result is just the same. And many single pass
scanners on the Market actually scans slower than the three passes scanners.
