bob I'm going to make that call next week & beg work(favorite ploy) if that doesn't work I'll whip out some cool screen savers that people have given me. One screen saver is about laying pipe!!Pipe gets layed all over the screen, a sight that is really….uh….kinda rare to me. I guess architects take a lot for granted!Tssk, what goes on behind the scenes! Too busy to notice these basic facts. The side effect of the Dr. Caligari thread: After spending days at the monitor I'm settling down tonite w/ the booty(Treasure Island definition not modern slang meaning of booty) I acquired from the movie rental place….Rutger Hauer in "Split Second" !! I'm sure it's going to be a really terrible "B" movie but ocasionally I have the need to consume the most tasteless in cinematic achievement (especially after the Dr. Caligari thread)!!! The routine is: 1. shop the vid place till something really foul catches my eye 2. proceed to the nearest 7-11 for a six pack of Sam Adams, Honey Porter & a BIG cigar, Then 3. home for the vid FEAST!! (item 2. is accomplished only when not in the company of my wife and daughter) This must be a left over impulse from the old Godzilla days…..Japan shouldn't Gloat, having a big lizard isn't everything!!(financially this may be an incorrect observation) I just heard that Mexico's Campos is comming out w/ his own line of goalie shirts w/ Nike! There have been soooo many asking for the mexico replica(me included) that he's been underwritten!! Cool!! I was told that he would wear one of his jersey creations w/ a different stick-on mfg logo each time he played and they finally came down on him!! Funny story! Thanks for all, Gary

David Sorry for the late reply….Been busy. Rutger seems to be kind of putin' on the pounch a little in Split second! He wears some kind of Elvis-style-beltbuckle-like field web belt type apparatus(or maybe it's a tummy shaper). How was he in Hitcher? In split second there were both gratuitous violence and sex within 5 minutes of opening credits! Must be some kind of formula for this! He's a renegade cop looking for the killer of his ex partner in this one. He's assigned a college educated crime expert partner whom he proceeds to whip up on and belittle in general(this sounds like my relationship with one of my clients)! THIS IS TRULY TERRIBLE CINEMA!! Very satisfying!! Hitcher in French? I can't imagine our (gulp!) hero wearing a black and white striped shirt and a beret! Only Benny hill comes to mind! There goes the image!<G><G>Hah!<g> Seriously, I'm looking for some good fresh movies w/ original themes. Sci Fi seems to repeat or never really even get started! One excellent French movie that I still remember is one in which an Opera fan helps a famous female singer escape killers! She hops on his Lambretta! Very Very good to the point that couldn't even remember reading subtitles!!Forgotten the title. Seven Samari is another! The Mask has the swat team Samba! but the formula of making Jim Carrie an old sweetie at heart makes me prefer Rutger in Split second.
