#Oktagon 2008

Does anyone have any experience with the Oktagon 2008 SCSI II controller? I'm
thinking of adding new SCSI II controllers to both my A2000 and A3000. Does the
manufacturer still exist? Are there any better solutions you could recommend,
etc?
Thanks,

Yes! As I have developed it, I am using it for many years now.

Why to the A3000?

Yes. I am in "charge" of the Oktagon Software for AlfaData/bsc.

I will not comment on this, cause I am involved with the product <g>.
It has some nice features like the configuration EEPROM which will ease things
a lot, like changing reselection for units without RDB, changing the
controllers SCDI-ID, etc.
Further, the software is and will be frequently updated if any problems show
up.
However, the Oktagon (and the older ALFIII) are out now for over five years and
after some problems at the beginning it is working very well now, even with
very strange SCSI units (Scanners, DAT, Streamer, Syquest, Tahiti-Opticals,
CD-Roms, Harddrives, etc.).
The actual ROM version is 6.8, but ROMs 6.5 and up work very well. Please check
for ROM 6.5 or better before you buy one.
