Hi,
I do not know if you looked over the responses to my posting for club e-mail
addresses but it was not really startling. In all there were five responses
(including my own):
Bill – MSSC
You and/or Rod – FMS
Guy Hammer – FM, NW Chapter
Russ Madson – American Opal Society
Nathan A. Schachtman – Delaware Valley Earth Science Society
I do not think the response is sufficient to continue the project at this end.
What do you think? Suggestion?
I will CIS mail my MSSC info to Sharon Shea for her listing though. Maybe with
her wider audience can get somewhere.
I too have been trying to get e-mail addresses into our MSSC Roster. I think I
have succeeded and they will be in this years'. I will know soon.

Hi, Bill–
Probably the big factor in expanding our knowledge of on-line club contacts
would come from convincing the AFMS and the regional federations to ask for
such with snail-mail contact info. It would keep people aware of the question,
and watching the results would show us when large numbers of contacts are
on-line. The rate of growth of the on-line rockhound presence seems to be
accelerating, thus it seems only a matter of time before we have contacts in
most clubs.

Being the newsletter editor for the American Opal Society I have the
opportunity to see a few reciprocal club bulletins and have noticed a couple
locally make refernce to accessing the Internet and emailing.
I think Doug's suggestion of contacting the AFMS and getting them to work with
the various state-level Federations may prove fruitful.

PS I'm purposely not volunteering to help with your task, I'm buried already,
sorry. I do think the idea has merit though.
