i've got version 3.0E and would like to get current. the note on 4.1b says
that i need version 4 to upgrade. is this so? how do i get from 3 to 4.1b
(and do i want to, after having seen the patch file, and known problem file)?

You can contact our sales department at 201-909-8600 to upgrade to version
4.1a. We aren't shipping version 4.1b, so you would have to download and
install that after you received 4.1a. Everything in the problem file was fixed
in the patch, so you don't have to worry about those. You might want to wait
until the second patch comes out to be on the safe side.
