#4.1b calendar won't open

I've added the 4.1b update and now I can't run Calendar. I get a message that
file is locked by network user. I'm running WfWg 3.11 and Norton Desktop, but
I'm not on a network. The problem is such that once I get the message,
rebooting is the only solution. Everything else looks good.

Delete calender.rsm from your \desktop directory.
Start calendar.
Hold down ctrl+shift and double click on the calendar file.
Go TO file/utilities/unlock events.

Okay, I deleted calendar.rsm, then opened Calendar. Got the same
problem…getting the error message about the file locked open by a network
user…forgot now. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm not able to do
anything with Calendar…like open a file…except force it closed. I'm running
DTS on top of OS/2, if that makes any difference. I get same problem in
DOS/win, too, though.

ctrl+shift and double click on the entry?
Can you open other calendars, ar create new ones?

Double click on the icon while I held down the control&shift keys? Yes. Can I
open other calendars? No, I don't have any others. Create a new one? No, as I
say, I can't do anything with the Calendar program except to force it shut from
Windows or OS/2.

Let's give it another try and see if we can get you up and running.
If the following does not work, then send us a copy of both your \deskapp and
\desktop directories, as well as your MSD file.
In a previous message you said, you opened the calendar and then got the
message. From the screen you got the message in, clear any error messages that
you have. While holding down ctrl+shift, double click on the calendar file
name that you want to open ( ex. desktop3.cal).

I said I could open the Calendar program. I suppose IT opened a calendar, but I
didn't. There't no way to clear the error messge. The choices are 'retry' or
'cancel.' Both give the same result: the error message goes away for about five
seconds, then returns. Meantime whether the error message is gone is visible,
clicking anywhere on the Calendar program gives me a busy sound…unavailable
sound…I don't know what it is. But,I can't do anything inside the Calendar
program. Outside, however, I can force it closed by cntrl-alt-del in Windows or
by simply closing the Calendar Win-OS2 window in OS/2.
Will send the desktop and deskapp dirs…and I think I know what an MSD file
is. Will try to create it.

Try to force open the calendar. Go to file/open, hold down ctrl+shift, and
double click on the file that you want to open.

When I open Calendar, I can't do anything else except to force it shut down.
That error message window seems to take over. Any other ideas?
