Question to all:
I'm curious as to the state of 3D work in Architecture. Reading around various
forums, I've garnered a general feel for the level's of complexity and a great
appreciation for some of the images being shared. Most are fantastic! <BG> So
the question is, are there any shops (arch offices) that consistently present
their clients with 3D animations and images generated via computer? I guess
you could call it a little market research.

There are lots, but I've found that most of the ones I've seen have been larger
firms, generally working on larger projects, where computer pre-visualation is
more cost effective. It's hard justifying several thousand dollars extra
expense to visualize a single, inexpensive home. (Though it is still done from
time to time, particularly for expensive homes or ones in environmentally
sensitive settings.)

At my firm we use 3D animations and renderings often in client presentations.
Some projects benefit more from this method of presentation than others. We
definitely do not produce 3D graphics for all projects but when appropriate it
can help quite a bit. What is your interest in this market survey?
