I've searched all through the manuals and can't find out how to fade a material on an object (thus fading the object) over time. I know there is a way to do this without using video post, what is it? Thanks. -James Franssen

Hi James, << I know there is a way to do this without using video post, what is it? >> Use Material Morphing where the second material in more transparent than the first and morph over a range of frames.

You can also try the vary.sxp as an opacity map. I've used it when I've needed only certain materials to fade out before. See page 82 of the "Advanced Users Guide" for a brief explanation. Morphing materials is probably easier, but vary has it's applications.
