#Material fade
6 messages in this thread
I've searched all through the manuals and can't find out how to fade a material
on an object (thus fading the object) over time. I know there is a way to do
this without using video post, what is it? Thanks.

Hi James,
<< I know there is a way to do this without using video post, what is it? >>
Use Material Morphing where the second material in more transparent than the
first and morph over a range of frames.
You can also try the vary.sxp as an opacity map. I've used it when I've
needed only certain materials to fade out before. See page 82 of the "Advanced
Users Guide" for a brief explanation. Morphing materials is probably easier,
but vary has it's applications.

Perfect, thanks!

I'm sorry.. what is this in reference to? I called at about 7:10 P.M. but you
had already left 🙁 I will be on a short vacation, but should be back by
Friday. I will try to call tomorrow morning before I leave, but if I miss you
please leave me a message here and I'll call when I get back. Thanks.
