I have a ATI Mach64 with 4Mg memory. I also have Animator Pro v1.3. I have not been able to find a way to get a screen resolution greater then 320×200. Has anyone got a higher resolution working with the Mach64 and Ani Pro ? I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance. Doug V.

Doug, You need to load the VESA driver for the MACH64 before starting ANIPRO. Once the VESA driver is loaded, you have high resolution screen sizes available to you to choose from the screen size menu. -Brian

Brian, the MACH64 is suppose to be directly compatible with the VESA standard and does not come with a VESA TSR. I double checked in the ATI forum's library. In any case what driver would I pick in the Animator PRO screen? There does not seem to be a genertic VESA driver in the list I have. All the drivers seem to be specific to a particular board, with the exception of the generic 320×200 drivers. By the way I also have Vibrants Pro Res drivers that added to the original list that came with Animator PRO. Hope you have some solution I have over looked. Thanks Doug V.

Hi Doug, FWIW, you're not the only one to have this problem. Unfortunately, I have'nt been able to come up with a solution. Jeff Blackwell

Doug, The ATI has VESA built onto the card(that's why you couldn't find a TSR). Try running the ATI setup program and make sure the VESA driver for Animator Pro exists where it is installed(it's a file). ATI's software does install a program(I forget the name) that will tell you every vesa mode that the card supports. There is a section in the Animator Pro installtion guide about using the vesa driver. You can force the driver to run in certain modes from the command line. Jh

Jeff, I have the same setup and have no problem. You must run the Mach64 ATI setup program and configure your screen to the various resolutions. I can run ani at any resolution. I usually stop at 800/600 because of the 60mhz scan rate. My scan converter will not accept anything above 60mkz. However I can go higher if I do not want to go to video. clif PS ATI tech support is very helpful. Imagine that.

Thanks, clif I'll contact them and see if we can't work it out (now that I know it can be done!) Jeff

Doug, ProRes for Animator was upgraded a few months ago to add new cards and the Mach 64 is in the cardlist for resolutions up to 1280*1024. It was the first update to the cardlist in some time so you might want to call us at 512-918-2270 for an upgrade. Dave [Vibrant]
