#Networking Amiga to PC

I need info on networking an Amiga to a PC. Specifically to transfer graphic
files, made on the Amiga, which are to large to fit on a disk. What kind of
software and hardware is out there to do this.

There are networking cards for the Amiga and the PC, but probably the easiest
(and least expensive) thing to do is to put a null modem cable between the two
and transfer the files that way.

You mention that there are networking cards available for the Amiga but
is there any networking software that is a) cheap b) available on both PC and
Amiga?
I have a friend who owns a PC and an A500 without hard disk. He was hoping he
could network it (perhaps using one of those cheap networks that runn via
serial ports) so that the A500 could access the hard disk and printer on the
PC.

It may be possible to run a network from the PC to the Amiga over a serial line
and run PPP or SLIP protocol across it. I've never heard of anyone actually
attempting this though. There is SLIP and PPP software available in the
library here.

Have you tried using a compression program like Zip or LHarc to compress the
files? If they aren't that much bigger than what fits on a floppy, you might
be able to continue to use the floppy method.

Why not try SCSI networking which seems to work quite well from my
experience, in fact we are developing on this area so why not call.
