#AMIGA -> SCART Monitor
8 messages in this thread
Hello,
I want to connect my AMIGA 500 to a Montior with a SCART Interface. Does
anybody know if this is possible? I would be very thankful if anybody has such
a cable for sale or if anybody knows where I can purchase such a cable (a shop
in germany would be prefered 😉 ).
Thanx a lot in advance and best regards
Holger
Though I am not sure if such a cable exsists, I do know of a company (in the
states) that special manufactures cables. All they would need would be a pin
out of a SCART (if they don't have one) and some other specs. Perhaps someone
can give you the number & address of Freemond (sp?) cable (I'm afraid I don't
have access to my addresses at the moment).
It is Redmond Cable and I believe that they are located in NYC. Unfortunately I
don't have their address/number either.

It should. In fact, my A1000 has that kind of cable. No idea where to purchase
it, because It is the original cable. The 1081 has a scart connector.

Thank you very much Robert, but I think that your reply should go to Holger,

I've got that cable already. But it's good to know where I can find another
one. Just in case. 😎

It is certainly possible. My 500 plus came with a scart cable and my 1084
monitor uses a scart connector.
One thing to watch out for is the monitor should be RGB. The Amiga uses RGB for
its monitor output but not all scart monitors accept RGB, some use S-Video
which is different. The scart connector has pins for both these and composite
video so just because two scart devices will connect to the same cable it
doesn't mean they will work together.
