6.55 Patch SmFind?

Doug: I just installed the 6.55 patch on my 6.51 version of Sas/C and
everything looks fine.
However, I noticed that there was a mention of a fix to SmFind (not using full
pathnames on shell command), and no updates were made to SmFind.c.
Consequently, when I recompiled it, it still had the bugs… IE, when I use the
Find icon in a directory, the ScMsg dialog comes up with some found lines, but
when I click on the line, my editor gets started up with the correct filename,
but no contents. I assume that it's in the wrong directory, couldn't find the
filename passed by ScMsg, and just opens an empty file with the right name.
How can I get SmFind (when started from the WorkBench, and using it's dialog)
to search the files I specify in the dialog AND pass the pathname on to TTX to
make it open the right files?
I also noticed that a couple of printer drivers that I recompiled went up in
size about 200 bytes; this was with the same full optimization options
specified. I haven't really pinned down where the increase came from. Is this
to be expected?

Hi Joe –
Sorry I took so long to reply, I've been on vacation for a couple of
weeks.
I don't have the 6.55 patch stuff handy at the moment, so I can't say
where the fix was supposed to have been made for SMFIND. However, the code
is in SC:EXTRAS if you want to try to fix it. If I can remember, I'll check
it out tomorrow when I get to work.
Regarding the increased size – my guess is that Steve backed out an
optimization that we found a bug in, and your code was taking advantage of
this. Perhaps the optimization worked for you but failed in some other case.
This happens pretty frequently with bug-fix updates – you get a minor size
increase or speed decrease as we add workarounds for problems. I really
can't say for sure without seeing an example of exactly what got bigger,
though.
