There is just about no way to make a reasonable task with any less overhead
than an Amiga task. That was the whole point of Sassenrath's work.

He is the father of Exec — one of the original Software Engineers at the
original Amiga Corp — his doctoral thesis was on small OS executives, and Exec
is the natural outgrowth of that work.
I've only been able to hang out with Carl a couple of times, but he is pretty
sharp, and pretty cool.

I think someone told me recently, but I don't recall. Sometime after he left
Amiga, he was an Apple Fellow (or something like that) for a couple of years,
but he wanted to work on real products, not pure research. Then he was
invovled with CDTV for a couple of years.
