I am an owner of an A3000 25/100 with 5 meg ….I have Prowrite 3.2 and recently upgraded to Workbench 2.04. Things have not been going well with Prowrite… we occasionally get a software failure # 80000004 and everything seems to lock up. My wife just lost an entire exam.. even the segment she had saved before the failure. I have also gotten a message telling me that a program couldn't be saved due to insufficient memory…nothing else was running at the time. I think I may have cured this problem by emptying a very full Trashcan….things had been Trashed but not emptied….I can't figure out a connection but that problem hasn't reared its ugly head. Of course all the names of the files I was trying to save that didnt still appear when I open prowrite even though they don't have an Icon. How can I clear this up…how can I keep my wife from trashing the Amiga…please send some suggestions. Roger

Roger, Well, a trashcan is pretty much like any other directory except that you can delete the contents of trashcans by choosing Empty Trash from the Workbench. I suspect that ProWrite tried to save your file out to disk, but ran out of room. The partial files that were saved were not deleted, and the .info file was not yet created. So, choosing empty trash was the right thing to do. Also, you may be able to prevent some of those software failures by getting the patch archive uploaded here or by returning your ProWrite Program disk and $5 for shipping to: New Horizons Software, Inc. P.O. Box 164260 Austin, TX 78716 We will send you back the new 3.2.2 version. Mark New Horizons Software, Inc.
