No conspiracy. An AA board would cost about the same as a new computer and would likely perform less well and be less compatible. AA isn't just a new graphics board, and you can't use it as such without a substantial investment in software (in which case you might as well use a cheap PC video chip like you see in the Retina, et al). dale@iam.com http://www.iam.com Intangible Assets Manufacturing

Dale, Didn't C= actually start limited production of an AGA A3000 with an 040 processor? I believe these units also had a SCSI interface instead of IDE. I'd be curious to find out if they had a flicker-fixer board capable of AGA scan-doubling. Cheers, Marty ProActive Images Inc. "WE BECOME WHAT WE THINK ABOUT ALL DAY LONG" – RW EMERSON

Only if you call prototype building limited production. The A3000+ was a pretty cool machine. There was a board that would have been the Color "Moniterm" to AA in the way that the monochrome Moniterm and A2024 was to OCS. I think it could also serve as a scan doubler. There was a prototype, and I think it was one of the designs offered to third parties (the way several of the peripherals were — like the 4091). dale@iam.com http://www.iam.com Intangible Assets Manufacturing

Does anyone know who got the prototype(s) A3000+?? I assume Haynie has one, anyone else? Gotta be a bit of a dream machine. You wouldn't happen to know the specs of it do you Dale? -Andre

I know the rough specs on it, I think they were published in the Denver DevCon notes, though. Of course Dave has one. So do a few other people. I think that CEI got a half-dozen of them in the two truck-loads of stuff that they pulled out of the Commodore auction, and that they've sold several of those. dale@iam.com http://www.iam.com Intangible Assets Manufacturing

Yes it was the Amiga 3400. I have two setting here from the Amiga auction and it looks like they were basically A4000/030's. I also have an A3000+ and C65 and would like to know if anyone else has gotten these to work?! Rob

The 3400 has nothing to do with the 3000. They are the initial prototype build of the 4000. I had one on my desk for months. >anyone else has gotten these to work I've worked all three, although I never had a 3000+ or C65 on my desk (in fact, I probably spent less than 5 minutes with a C65). dale@iam.com http://www.iam.com Intangible Assets Manufacturing

You lucky thing. I wanted to get a C65. For some reason I don't like programming computers that anyone else does. That's why I only really started programming the c64 at the end of it's comercial life. What is really worrying is I have just started (again) programming the Amiga. Does anyone want to pay me not to?
