What setting do you suggest I set the Key Timing to? I seem to remember having
changed it at one point, and it seems to me that I started having the problem
after that. I should mention that my bridgeboard is the 286 BB (haven't felt
the need to upgrade).
<< You might also want to look at the System Speed and Wait state settings in
your BBSetup utility. I don't know if these would affect the keyboard, but
it's one of the things I'd experiment with. >>
Do those options exist for the 286? and if so, where do I find them?
I'm really not very experienced at this – I bought the BB to give me
compatibility for work I brought home – and have a "bare bones" setup. Now
that I'm "retired", I don't use the IBM side very often, but partly that's
because of the "sticky key" problem. I'd sure like to get it cleared up, and
would appreciate any info you can give me. Thanks again.

The default, according to the 386 manual (I haven't done this in a while), is
5000. I'd set it to that and see if it solves the problem.
You're right, there are no System Speed and Wait settings on the 286. I didn't
realize that was what you were using.
But the Key Timing should solve the problem, especially if you think it may
have caused it.

Speaking of bridgeboard key problems, here's one I just encountered:
A while back my Amiga keyboard began to die (sticky and bad keys). Rather than
plunk down 80 bucks for a new one, I found at my local dealer a $20 adaptor
board that lets an XT/AT keyboard work. It has performed very well on the Amiga
and PC sides but of course some of the keys have to be remapped (e.g., the ALT
keys become Amiga keys, the CTRL keys become ALTs, and so on). Well, no
problems until today, when I needed to change the BBSETUP values on the
bridgeboard. Ah ha! To save new values one must hit the END key. However, on
the remapped keyboard, that fails.
Time to get out Keytoy and try to find where the END key went. Either that, or
plug in the old Amiga keyboard long enough to enter the values.
Interestingly, this is the ONLY function I've ever run across on the Amiga that
demands the END key. And I think the only one on the PC, too.

Thanks, Marion – I'll try 5000 and see what happens. I couldn't remember what
the original setting had been, and can't find it in my manual.
