Well, I agree with you that the current fad of
male-bashing-at-every-conceivable-opportunity is unpleasant at best, but the
idea of investigating prevalent social attitudes that influenced various
writers isn't automatically bad. Of course nowadays any such study would be
hopelessy biased by neo-feminist concerns.
