#Who Bundles What?

A lot of people have been asking lately about the various bundles
available. I know I was asking, too, when I was shopping.
Since it's so important to those who are shopping, but so tedious to those
of us who've already bought, I think it makes sense to put a list in the
library. I'm willing to do that, but I'm sure there are several deals I
don't know about, especially the ones that don't get nationally
advertised.
So, if you'll send me the info (in email, so we don't clog up the board),
I'll consolidate it and upload it. So I don't have to put _too_ much time
into this, and to make it easier to compare, please put it in this
format:
Package name & model # ("host" system, drive model, MPC/not MPC, street
price):
title 1
title 2
For example:
Sony Laser Library, CDU-7205 (IBM, Sony CDU-535, not MPC, $600):
Compton's Encyclopedia
Languages of the World
Microsoft Bookshelf
National Geographic Mammals
Mixed-up Mother Goose

If the bundle is only available from a particular dealer or dealers,
mention that, and I'll figure out a way to incorporate it into the
listing.
Please don't include a lot of details about what's on the disks, etc. I
want to keep this simple and standardized for easy comparison.
I'll wait about a week to get as many responses as possible.

I don't know how you want to classify this, but with PsL (my company), you
can "roll your own" bundles for a list of CD's with special "bundle
prices". That way you can get just the CD's you want.
I think we need to ask Lupes about this, Nelson: talking in general terms
about nationally-available products is one thing, but getting into
specifics of dealer and price may run afoul of CompuServe's advertising
restrictions. Other than not wanting to do a lot of editing (which I
assume we could avoid), my only real concern is that making it too big
might deter people from downloading it.

I'm not really opposed to including information from Nelson. People like
Nelson Ford, Clyde Washburn and many others make many contributions
(providing comments, advice and their online time) in addition to selling
their products. I think that helps to make this online community worthwhile.
As we keep the "sales talk" to a section/library that is specifically for
that purpose (Lib 10 – Marketplace is already there and Sec 10 – Marketplace
is on the way) we shouldn't offend people not interested in the topic.
