I don't spend much time, in fact no time watching Saturday morning cartoons, but this last Saturday I flipped on the TV and saw a cartoon called "Reboot". Has anyone else seen this show? I think it was on NBC at 8:30 AM CA time. It looked like the entire cartoon was done with 3D animation. Does anyone know what system was used for this? Looked very good, lots of moving texture maps etc. Talking models with little or now seams etc apparent. I was impressed, looks like I'll have to get up early again on Saturday and catch it again. Hi Tom: I am by no means an expert on this show, but here's what I know: – it is entirely 3D rendered – the group doing it is located in Vancouver, BC – they use SGIs with SoftImage (exclusively, I think) – their rate-of-output is incredible at about 40,000 frames per episode If anybody knows anything else (or has corrections) I'd be interested in hearing about it. Thomas, do not quote me on this but I saw Reboot a while back and thought it was just incredble myself. I beleive it is done on the SGI (Alias software???) platform by a company located in Vancouver, Canada. The characters and storylines are comical.
