Can any of the current commercial editing sustems (Miro, D/Vision …) run in the Windows95 environment? What about editing software packages like Adobe…? Thanks

Beta testers for Windows '95 are sworn to secrecy, but I can tell you from personal experience with the Miro that you should not rush out to buy a preview copy of Windows '95 yet. There are lots of advantages to Windows '95 when it comes to VISCA control or using Motion Video cards that conform to the latest driver specs. I think the Orchid Videola does, for instance. I use Win'95 all day every day. Even programs as demanding as Adobe Premeire run well. And it's possible that my problems with the Miro drivers (which seem to work OK in Win 3.11) might be configuration errors on my part. Jim Gast

Thanks Jim. I too have been working in Win95 for a long time and am now using the "final beta release" but I know that a number of graphically intensive programs do not run well in 95. I'd like to get the Miro but I am "stuck" with Win95 so I guess I should wait to hear something from Miro. Is there any communication from Miro on this subjetct beyong WAIT?

Trinity, an new desktop video product Play will be unveiling at NAB, is built to take advantage of Win 95 and Win NT's multi-threaded, pre-emptive multi-tasking nature. It works great! 🙂 (I'm one of the designers) See my post in "News and Rumors / Major New Product at NAB" for information. Regards, Steve

Thanks Steve, sounds promising (Win95 memory issues aside). If you need a beta tester let me know.
