Larry: Micro Forge sent me some info, got it today. Their products sound just
fine but their prices don't. (to me, anyway) $1500 for a 20 Meg hard drive,
$860 for a 2 Meg RAM card. Too much if ya ask me. Ah, well. Can't afford that
kinda stuff anyway.
Brad..what info migroforge has let me have (not much) I'd say they
were competitevly priced for the IBM market. Unfortunatly..I havn't
gotten in touch with them. larry

I have seen the MicroForge drives in action. The interface is totally
non-asthetic, does not seem to do a pin-passthrough of the bus, but *does*
work. It requires an external power supply of OEM astheticness (which is to
say none). Prices quoted by KJ Computers (ELLAY) are $1300 for 10MB and $1500
for 20MB. Jambs gainst the bus port in a most ugly way, thankfully not
blocking the Atari-type joystick/mouse ports. And the power supply is not
safe for young children. But it *does* work, and it is fast. Too bad that
Activision and Electronic Arts stuff is so lazily copy-protected that they
cannot be installed on *any* hard disk. But I digess…. *kevin*
Brad..let me ammend my previous statement slightly. It is in the
HIGHER end of the PC market. I'm afraid that Microforge cant offer
the discounts that many companies can becasue of the lack of a large
market at this moment. I mean look how much (last time I looked)
more a MAC hardrive costs than a PC. larry
